ABOUT OUR JEWELRY
What Is 18k Gold Plated On Alloy Jewelry?
Our suppliers specialized in exporting to Europe & America for many years. The imported jewelry standards for Europe and United States are very strict. They do not accept low-grade alloy / imitation alloy goods. They require multi-layer plating while inner tube of the alloy must not contain heavy metals that could harm human skin or body. The cutting and finishing are required to be even and shall not scratch or cut the skin. Therefore, the cost of our jewelry would be higher than the ordinary alloy-made fashion jewelry.
Fading Problem
This is what the most concerned about. Although our jewelry is made of high quality alloy, multi-layered coating with high shine, however, due to certain unforeseen circumstances, the sign of wear off or colour fading may arise through time. This is common and inevitable for all jewelry available in the market. The shine of the jewelry is due to the plating of gold or white gold. Although there are many coating and layers of plating over, but if the layer of the plating has wear off, there is no way to restore them to their former shine. Therefore, they still need you to take care of.
Other Factors That May Cause Fading of Jewelry / Leaving Dark Marks
Sometimes if the jewelry discolor, turns black or with spots, it is not jewelry deterioration. This might due to the contact with harmful substances such as mercury-sulphur. This also indicates that the living environment you are in might have high density of harmful substances that may do harm to your body and you should take note of. Other causes or factors that might cause jewelry to discolor are:
• High meat diet can cause an acidic skin which may react with the alloy
• Certain hand creams or lotions can cause a reaction
• Certain drugs can make you also react with the alloy
About Allergies
If earrings make your earlobes itch or your necklace has left a rash around your neck, you may be suffering from a nickel allergy. Nickel is a silver-white metal that is found in nature and often mixed with other metals to create an alloy. It is commonly used in costume jewelry, earring posts, watchbands, eyeglass frames, hairpins, snaps, buttons, zippers, and many other items we have contact with daily. Some nickel elements are also easily found in cheap (fake) 925 Silver or Tibetan Silver that looks bright and shiny. It’s common to have sensitive effect because there are about 7% of people who are allergy to nickel. Our suppliers use relatively high cost of material such as thin layer of gold and copper (new material) as raw material to produce better alloy. However, different people have different skin sensitivity and after all there are thousands of allergens. Therefore we Cannot Guarantee 100% that our jewelry won’t cause any allergies.
